Best Buddies is a free friendship program
There is no deadline for when you can start, in fact you can start today! Every school operates their Best Buddies Chapter based on their specific needs and resources. It is best to start small at the beginning with 5-15 students and then gradually grow. You are not required to adopt the model of pairing participants in one-to-one friendships, some schools decide to only meet as a group and do activities together once or twice a month.
Getting started is
simple
We only require a one time submission of our Program Application Form to get you registered in our database. Once you have your first activity or meeting with your group, you will be confirmed as an official Best Buddies Chapter.
Best Buddies is run concurrently with the typical Canadian school year.
Therefore, each year our schools are required to submit a listing of their participants for our records, this is referred to as your Chapter’s Roster. If your school’s policy limits the sharing of students’ information, we advise that you only share their initials.
